Scenic Vista

Yesterday we drove to an overlook south of Fairbanks where you can see the mountain range in the distance.  This is the sun setting at about 2:30 in the afternoon. :)

Ice Skating

On Friday I went ice skating with the Sterners at an indoor rink.  I hadn't skated in a while, and I had a lot of fun doing it.

Winter Fun

Yesterday I went inner tubing with the Sterners.  It was a lot of fun.  It was like a mild amusement ride.  This is the view that I had from the top of the hill.

And this is the bottom of the hill where you would get your tube and be pulled up by a tow rope.

Yesterday we drove to a spot on the banks of the Chena River where we could walk down and stand on the ice of the frozen river.  Here I am standing on the snowed-over ice of the frozen river.

Winter Wonderland

Yesterday we spent the whole day at home.  It was too cold to go outside, but it was beautiful to look outside! 

This picture is fuzzy, but it is the thermometer on the front porch registered at 35 degrees below Fahrenheit!

I'm in Fairbanks!

Hello everyone.  I arrived safely in Fairbanks on Friday.  As we landed, the pilot said that it was 35 below!  I could feel how cold it was as I stepped outside the airport.  The cold took my breath away.  Here is the view that I had from the airplane as we flew over the state of Alaska.
